About the project

The PICTURES project is currently making strides in transforming the way education and training are delivered within the prison system, specifically focusing on young adults. This innovative initiative aims to introduce fresh, multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning in correctional settings, emphasizing the unique needs of emerging adults. The project is actively working to establish Correctional Pedagogy HUBS across Europe, which serve as incubators within educational institutions. These hubs are designed to bring together current and future professionals in the field, helping them to develop their skills in correctional pedagogy with a special focus on career guidance, management, and vocational training.

The PICTURES project is also fostering a strong connection between higher education, vocational training, research, the public sector, and the business sector. By doing so, it aims to facilitate the exchange and co-creation of knowledge, ensuring that educational systems are not only effective and inclusive but also innovative and responsive to the needs of the correctional industry.

One of the key outcomes of the PICTURES project is the creation of an e-learning platform, which will support the ongoing professional development of correctional employees and those aspiring to enter the field. This platform will offer tailored learning experiences that align with the needs of the correctional industry, helping individuals to manage and advance their careers effectively.
