About the project

The CCJ4C project, was a significant initiative aimed at enhancing prison management process with a strong emphasis on career guidance and innovation. This project was unique in its focus on cultural transformation within the prison environment, particularly as it related to the careers of prison staff and the support provided to inmates. What made this project unique was its focus on how the culture within prisons could change, particularly in how prison staff manage their careers and how they support inmates. The project aimed to find out if there was an ideal way to manage the careers of prison staff and, if so, to identify the key features of that approach. The project involved partners and stakeholders from across Europe who had significant experience in managing, reforming, and educating within prisons. These organizations came together with the goal of developing, testing, and putting in place a practical method for starting or improving career guidance for prison staff. The project focused on giving prison staff the skills they need to manage their own careers better, with input from the staff themselves, prison administrations, workplaces (prisons), and training providers like companies and NGOs.

Creating a Career Guidance Method

The project aimed to develop, test, and establish a method that could help start or improve career guidance within the criminal correctional justice system. This method was designed to help prison staff gain the skills they need to manage their careers effectively. The method was developed with direct input from prison staff, their employers, and training organizations.

Promoting Career Management

The project also aimed to raise awareness across Europe about the importance of having a structured and guided approach to managing careers within the prison system. This involved making sure that the people who are most affected by these changes—like prison staff and administrations—were involved in the process.
