Pact for Skills in Correctional Justice
Welcome to LiberateSkills.
an initiative dedicated to enhancing the professional development and training of people working within the correctional justice system.
What we do
European Union's Pact for Skills
As part of the European Union's Pact for Skills, our mission is to foster a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement tailored to the unique needs of correctional professionals.
Through collaboration with educational institutions, correctional facilities, and community organizations, LiberateSkills develops comprehensive training programs, supports research in correctional pedagogy, and creates a supportive network for professionals.
LiberateSkills Pact, registered under number 248, originated in 2020 as an innovative alliance focused on career guidance for correctional professionals. The permanent secretariat is hosted by the Center for Promoting Lifelong Learning, Timisoara, Romania. What sets LiberateSkills apart is its unwavering commitment to placing pedagogy at the forefront of correctional practice. We are the first and only Pact in the correctional sector to receive support from the European Commission's DG EMPL, demonstrating the significance of our work.
The LiberateSkills Pact for Skills is an essential part of the movement to professionalize and modernize the correctional workforce delivering learning contexts in prison, ensuring that the educators and beyond are well-prepared to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the sector.
Through our Pact we have managed to develop compresensive framework and profiles of competencies for teachers delivering in justice related contexts, set up learning pathways and now we work for microcredentialing the competencies in such a way they will be recognised both by all Pact members and by European Commission.
